In an interview with DNA India, Barun Sobti said that Asur 2 is better than its first season. “It rarely happens that season 2 is better than the first. I feel like if the first season was great, this is phenomenal. When the first season came out, I remember feeling like this would be one of the best shows in India.” he has ever produced. It turned out to be so. And the second season is definitely much better than the first. This time it is much bigger. He’s not confined to a room like last time. There’s more at stake,” he said.

He then spoke about his character Nikhil Nair, saying, “In this story arc, so much happens at a breakneck pace that there’s very little time for anyone to evolve. There’s a bit of an emotional arc, of course. To top it off, now he’s lost a his family, so that weighs on him. But he’s not a drastically different man.”
Barun also touched on the three-year delay of ‘Asur 2’, telling DNA India: “How can I tactfully do this now? A lot of changes happened behind the scenes. If it was only up to me, I would have wanted to bring it out sooner, even in a business sense, to capitalize on the madness much sooner. But there were management changes that caused delays. That’s how the world works.”
The first season of ‘Asur’ premiered on Voot Select, but the second season will stream on Jio Cinema for free. Currently, only the first two episodes are available to watch.
