Jimin surpassed 1 billion streams on Spotify and the record was achieved 393 days after his debut on the music streaming app.

BTS member Jimin has been climbing the ladders of success due to his successful solo songs, albums, and various branded collaborations. The singer has now broken the world record set by another BTS member, Jungkook, and has reportedly become the fastest K-pop soloist to reach 1 billion streams on Spotify.

According to the latest reports, Jimin has surpassed 1 billion streams on Spotify and the record was achieved 393 days after Jimin’s debut on the music streaming app.

Jimin’s record of 1 billion streams includes his OST releases for the K-drama ‘Our Blues’, which his friend Ha Sungwoon sang. It was followed by Jimin’s collaboration with BIGBANG’s Taeyang for the latter’s song ‘VIBE’, the pre-release ‘Set Me Free Pt.2’, the five-track release album ‘FACE’. He adds his latest song ‘Angel Pt.1’ with Kodak Black, NLE Choppa, JVKE and Muni Long for the movie ‘Fast X’. This includes streams of his solo tracks ‘Promise’ and ‘Christmas Love’ which were released on SoundCloud in 2018 and 2020 respectively, but only made available on Spotify this year via official releases.

While talking about working on his song and album, Jimin revealed that he was lost and depressed while creating ‘Set Me Free Pt.2’ and tried to convey his emotions through the song. “Free Me Pt. 2 was created when I was feeling lost and down. I was determined to get over those feelings and this song conveys those emotions,” he said.

Jimin added, “I think I wanted to express that emotion in the choreography as well. So the choreography turned out to be very intense like this, but the people I’m working with are doing a good job, I’m the only one.” I should be worried.”

He also talked about following a strict diet plan for music videos. “It’s not easy to keep my weight within the 50 kg range, but now I’m getting used to it. Every night, I write down what I want to eat before I go to bed. Yesterday I wrote, Kalguksu, Daechang, and Ramyeon “I was craving something spicy. It’s been so long since I’ve had Tteokbokki too. Kalguksu with kimchi sounds really amazing,” Jimin revealed.

Both songs ‘Set Me Free Pt.2’ and ‘Like Crazy’ are part of Jimin’s solo album ‘Face’.
