‘Citadel’ stars Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden as agents Nadia and Mason, respectively. It is streaming on Prime Video.

The ‘Citadel’ finale has finally been released on Prime Video and the latest episode left the audience in a big suspense after revealing a few plot twists. ‘Citadel’ stars Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden as agents Nadia and Mason, respectively, along with Stanley Tucci and Lesley Manville in the pivotal roles.

It has been revealed that Mason’s real name is Kyle and Dahlia is his birth mother. In the season finale, Nadia, Kyle, and Carter risk their lives to save Nadia’s daughter, Asha, and others that the Manticore has taken hostage because they want to acquire nuclear weapons.

Despite being made on a high budget and featuring an excellent cast of stars, with a weak storyline, the show proves to be a colossal waste of time. After the disappointing fifth episode, the finale redeems itself somewhat with an engaging performance from the all-star cast and a few plot twists.

The action sequences are well choreographed and look spectacular as the all-star cast performed them with such ease. Talking about her performances, Priyanka Chopra has excelled in her role even in the mediocre writing of her character and impresses her with a powerful screen presence. Meanwhile, Richard Madden plays the role of Mason/Kyle with sincerity, and while you may find it hard to sympathize with his character, Richard impresses you with impeccable charm. Lesley Manville as Dahlia Archer turns in a compelling performance and is a perfect antagonist.

There are different timelines in the episode, making plot details confusing and hard to see. The new reveal and twists are a bit appealing, but there’s no surprising element and the plot holes are hard to ignore. There’s a lot going on in the season finale, but not enough opportunity is given to explore the different details or subplots.

Final thoughts:

‘Citadel’ Finale (Episode 6) is a decent watch but not attractive enough to blow your mind. It’s not something the audience hasn’t seen before or something that hasn’t been explored in other spy shows. Many questions remain in a suspense that will hopefully be answered in the upcoming season.
