Getting stuck with a stubborn wine stain after an epic Saturday night with friends is always a bust. Especially if somehow you had the courage to bring out the white top you had been saving for an important event someday. Well, it looks like you won’t have time to mop around anymore because a man who calls himself “New York’s finest dry cleaner” is here to solve your stain-related problems.
Best Way To Remove A Red Wine Stain From Your Rug
Zachary Pozniak is a self-proclaimed expert at getting nasty stains out. In a video that quickly went viral on the internet, Pozniak showed his audience how he gets rid of stubborn wine stains on his rug or clothes after a night in.
The man’s practical advice can make this daunting moment when your carpet turns red from the wine seem manageable. He underlines the importance of swift action in such instances. He mentions how it is important to note that a fresh stain will definitely be easier to remove than one that has had time to settle in the fabric.
The Dry Cleaner Shares His Secret Concoction
To demonstrate his tip, Pozniak spills wine on a rug for the clip. He then reveals the concoction he uses for such stubborn stains. For him, the magic potion is made of three parts water to one part white vinegar. All you have to do is pour this mixture on the stain.
Then put a clean towel on the stain, cover it, and iron the towel-covered vinegar stain with a steam iron. You can repeat the process until you are satisfied with the results. His extra little tip for people is that they can also use hydrogen peroxide to correct any remaining colour on the rug and let it air dry.

He explains why he swears by using vinegar for such stains and writes, “The goal here is to use the vinegar to counteract the tannins in wine and the heat from the iron to draw up and transfer the stain solution mixture (water and vinegar) into the towel.”
