Jori Jones, 19, was killed in a collision that was allegedly caused by the driver of an SUV transporting Gustavus Adolphus women’s hockey players disobeying a stop sign. In the collision on Sunday at the crossroads of Highways 40 and 29, west of Willmar, Jones, a goalie for the Gustavus, died as a result of her injuries, along with three other teammates. Mortensen, Bluhm, and Gasparini all had non-life-threatening wounds. Prior to the crash, the second car, a Dodge Caravan driven by a 28-year-old Benson woman, had stopped completely at the junction. Injuries that weren’t life-threatening were also treated for in the woman. A Dodge Caravan was struck by Gianna Gasparini’s SUV at an intersection.
