The South Indian film industry has drawn everyone’s attention with its blockbuster movies over the years. Amid the epic blockbusters, the Malayalam film industry has found its popularity due to the simple and realistic portrayal of its characters. Malayalam cinema became more popular across the country during the pandemic through OTT and lots of intriguing Malayalam movies are also going to be released on OTT in 2023.
Principal:
Starring Babu Antony and Thampy Antony in the title role, ‘Headmaster’ is based on the short story Pothichoru by Karoor Neelakanda Pillai. The film will be released in 2023 and the official release date has not been announced yet.
Anthology based on the short stories of M.T. Vasudevan Nair
This anthology project will feature some big names in the Malayalam film industry and will have nine segments of approximately 40 minutes each. The directors involved are Priyadarshan, Ranjith, Santosh Sivan and Rathish Ambat among others. Meanwhile, Mohanlal, Mammootty and Fahad Faasil will be involved in this project. The official release date and title have yet to be announced.

2018: Everybody’s a Hero
‘2018: Everyone Is A Hero’ will premiere on June 7, 2023 on SonyLiv. The film stars Kunchacko Boban, Tovino Thomas, and Asif Ali in the lead role with Vineeth Sreenivasan, Aparna Balamurali, Kalaiyarasan, Narain, Lal, Indrans, Aju Varghese, Tanvi Ram, Sshivada, and Gauthami Nair in pivotal roles.

At an event, Tovino spoke about the positive response his film received. He said: “Receiving such overwhelmingly positive reviews for a movie we shot mostly drenched in water is an incredible feeling. I can’t think of a single movie that has gotten 100% positive reviews on social media before. Maybe because this is a movie every Malayalee feels close to their heart. We felt an emotional bond with the film.”
He added: “I remember crying when I read the script. But I didn’t tell anyone. Jude would be all over the place acting out the scenes for us. I remember waiting to go home once the sun came up just so I would have a raincoat.” – Jude dressed standing in the water, writing some scenes on a piece of paper that needs to be filmed.”
Sesham Mike-il Fatima:
Starring Kalyani Priyadarshan in the lead role, the film will be released on Netflix after its theatrical release. It also stars Femina, Sudhish, Sabumon, Shaheen Siddique, and Shaju Sreedhar.
