‘Shaakuntalam’ did very poorly at the box office where the producer of the film Dil Raju had to face a huge loss. ‘Shaakuntalam’ was released on April 14 and was directed and written by Gunasekhar. The film is a mythological drama based on the folklore of Kalidasa ‘Abhigyan Shakuntalam’ and has been released in five languages ​​ie Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi. The film also starred Dev Mohan in the lead role.

In early March, Samantha Ruth Prabhu revealed that she initially turned down the film, but later accepted it to face the fears that plagued her for the past three years.

According to a News18 report, he said: “The offer came to me at a time when I had just finished filming The Family Man 2. I had just played Raji, a character so different from Shakuntala in so many ways. Shakuntala is a symbol of purity. , innocence, grace and dignity. Raji, on the other hand, was all about being brave and real. I wasn’t sure I could transform into Shakuntala at the time.”

Samantha also mentioned, “Over the past 3 years, I have lived in a lot of fear. Shakuntala faced many difficulties, but she faced them all with dignity and grace.
