A lottery winner can receive their payments all at once or over the course of several years, and the winnings are usually also subject to income tax. However, what if the jackpot winner was entitled to weekly payments for the rest of her life?
Many of us would be forced to quit our jobs, travel the world, make investments, and start a savings account if such a thing happened. Robin Riedel is already experiencing such a situation, so he need not consider it.
US trucker wins lottery that will pay him Rs 82k every week for life
After selecting a winning golden ticket that qualifies you for a payout of $1,000 every week for the rest of your life, you’re now set for life. After more than 14 years of Oregon Lottery play, Riedel finally struck gold on May 8.
Qualified to receive a $1,000 check every week after winning the jackpot in the Win for Life game, according to a UNILAD study.
“I did it. I did it. In another two or three years, I hope to retire,” Riedel said. He has made significant plans for his new fortune even though he intends to retire from his regular job in the next few years.
He plans to trade and make home improvements with that money.
The money will be used by Riedel, a trucker by trade, to pay bills, make home improvements and take a vacation to St. Lucia to commemorate their wedding anniversary. A lottery is a game in which the results are determined at random. However, there are other cases where good luck has altered the very definition of the lottery.
A man recently experienced 20 lucky times, not just once, two or three times. For the same lottery draw, William Newell from Alexandria bought 20 identical tickets and won on all 20, taking home a total prize of $100,000 (Rs 74 lakh).
